Precision Sintered Bearings
Self-lubricating, oil-impregnated powder metal bearings engineered for maintenance-free, long-life performance in high-cycle applications — supplied from prototype to full mass production.
Maintenance-Free Performance Built In
Sintered bearings are manufactured through powder metallurgy — metal powder is compacted and sintered to create a bearing with a controlled porous structure. This porosity is then impregnated with lubricating oil, which is stored within the bearing itself and released gradually during operation as the bearing heats up.
The result is a bearing that is inherently self-lubricating — eliminating the need for external grease or oil maintenance throughout its service life. This makes sintered bearings ideal for enclosed, inaccessible, or automated applications where ongoing lubrication is impractical.
At Wisma Technology, we source and supply precision sintered bearings through our qualified manufacturing network. Every bearing is verified to your dimensional and performance requirements before delivery, with full support from design feasibility through to ongoing production supply.
Why Choose Sintered Bearings
Maintenance-Free Operation
Oil-impregnated porosity provides continuous self-lubrication throughout the bearing's service life — no re-greasing required.
Long Service Life
Consistent lubrication at the interface reduces wear and extends operational life, particularly in high-cycle or continuous-run applications.
Cost-Effective at Volume
Near-net-shape production with minimal machining delivers a low per-unit cost at mass production quantities with excellent dimensional consistency.
Quiet & Smooth Running
The continuous thin oil film at the bearing surface reduces friction, noise, and vibration — critical in household appliances and automotive applications.
Available Configurations
All bearing types available to your exact drawing specifications, bore size, OD, and length requirements.
Sintered Bronze Bearings
The most widely used sintered bearing type, manufactured from copper-tin or iron-copper-tin compositions. Sintered bronze bearings offer excellent conformability, corrosion resistance, and reliable oil retention — making them the preferred choice for motors, fans, and household appliance drives operating under moderate loads.
Iron-Based Sintered Bearings
Iron-based sintered bearings provide higher load-bearing capacity and mechanical strength compared to bronze alternatives. Available with oil impregnation for self-lubricating performance, they are suited to higher-load applications in industrial drives, automotive actuators, and power tools where durability under load is critical.
Sintered Bearing Materials
Material selection is guided by your load, speed, environment, and lubrication requirements — we advise during feasibility review.
Sintered Bronze
Copper-tin (Cu-Sn) and iron-copper-tin (Fe-Cu-Sn) compositions offering excellent conformability, natural corrosion resistance, and reliable oil retention. The standard choice for motors, small appliance drives, and fan bearing applications requiring quiet, maintenance-free operation over extended service periods.
Iron-Based Sintered
Iron-based compositions — with alloying elements tailored to your specific load and speed requirements — deliver higher mechanical strength and load-bearing capacity than bronze. Composition is selected based on application requirements, with oil impregnation applied for self-lubricating performance across the full service life.
